Great Falls is unique in that our local Society of Architects has worked together for almost 60 years to provide opportunities to improve our profession. With our process, we will come to you rather than you having to hunt down every firm and hope that you will find someone available. It’s a win for you and a win for us!
To simplify our process we encourage you to contact our Executive Secretary, Krista Smith to make arrangements for your visit. She can help you find a date that works for your schedule and hopefully ours. We generally try to avoid events in the summer months because of busy project and vacation schedules. WHAT: To best provide our members with information about your event, please email Krista a summary of your presentation, the number of credit hours offered and any other details that might be important to us. Please be sure to include all of your contact information.
WHERE: We have a conveniently located meeting room that is set up with everything that you need for your presentation. We are located within the Great Falls Builders Exchange at 325 2nd St. South, Great Falls, MT 59405 We are easy to find, just a quick 5 minute drive from most local hotels and 10 minutes from the airport. We are also within walking distance of several firms located downtown.
TECHNOLOGY: We have a 60" Smart TV that can be connected to a laptop or tablet. If for some reason you need another format, we also have a projector and screen available for your use. Need copies? Just let us know. We have a full service print center on-site. Wi-Fi is also available.
INVITATIONS: The GFSOA maintains this website that all members have access to. Calendar items are found on the Home page and all events posted are automatically emailed to members on strategic dates to sign up, or friendly reminders. All members have the ability to RSVP directly via this website.
FOOD: We know that it can be challenging to try to find a good local option to cater your event, especially when coming from out of town. Our staff will handle those details. We will order food according to the number of members who have RSVP’d (plus a little extra for those who might show up unannounced). On average your cost will be approximately $7-$10/per attendee. If you have a special request or have budget concerns, please work with Krista directly.
WHAT TO EXPECT: We understand that the ultimate goal of your visit is to reach as many design professionals as possible. We work with almost every firm in Great Falls and even some outlying areas. Currently, there are a handful of small firms and 3 larger firms that reside in Great Falls. As a general rule, we will have representation from all of the larger firms and several of the small firms. We can never guarantee attendance, but we have a very active group and we usually have around 10-12 attendees. Please try to show up about 45 minutes to an hour ahead of your presentation so that we can be sure that the room is set to your liking and that all technology is working properly.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS: After everyone has left, we will provide you with a final cost for food and you are welcome to pay right away (in fact, we prefer it). We accept all major credit cards. Feel free to linger if needed. The room is generally available for the rest of the day and we understand that being away from the office and on the road can get hectic. When you are ready to send out certificates of attendance, you can email or mail them to Krista. She will make sure that they are distributed to the appropriate party.
