Society Of Architects Since 1953
Presented by The Henry Company
The primary goal is to inform the audience of the environmental and energy saving value of properly designed and installed air barrier systems for the building envelope. The longevity of building components and their exposure to the damaging effects of moisture and bulk water are discussed. Industry drivers for air barrier systems such as codes, testing organizations such as ASTM and the USGBC's LEED rating program are also examined. Additionally, the presentation addresses the misunderstanding regarding moisture accumulation casued by unwanted air movement and vapor diffusion through wall assembly components.
